1737 drive issue after hose work

On a Case 1737 skid steer, how do you sort out a drive problem after hydraulic hose work when it could be air on the suction side or something mechanical in the drive?

Since it started after hose work, check the fluid level and the suction-side connections first. Air entry or a priming issue is possible, but a blocked intake or a mechanical drive problem can look similar.

Does it act up in forward and reverse, or mainly one direction? If one side shudders or quits under load while the other stays normal, that points more toward that drive motor or its plumbing than a general suction-side air leak

Mainly one direction points more toward linkage, clutch, or drive components on that side than a general suction-side issue. If it does the same thing both ways, the hose connections and suction side stay in the mix.
