Dies when seat or lap bar moves

A clean instant shutdown when the seat or bar moves sounds different than an engine stumble, but the exact interlock behavior varies a lot by machine. Anybody seen one where a seat switch or bar wiring issue actually kills the engine instead of just locking out hydraulics or setting the brake?

If the dash has a seat-bar or safety interlock light, watch whether it changes at the exact instant the engine quits. A matching indicator change points toward the interlock circuit or its wiring. If the dash drops out too, that leans more toward a power or ground problem.

Check the manual for that machine's intended shutdown behavior. No bypassing the safety switches.

I'd want the model/serial first, but don't assume the switch itself is bad. If moving the seat or bar tugs a shared wiring harness or connector, it can open the run circuit and kill the engine just as fast. Inspect for stretched, pinched, or rubbed wires through the full seat and bar travel, with the safety interlock left intact.
