Frequent regen during light work

Light grading, cleanup work and idling can load soot differently than steady hard work. The part that seems less clear is when repeat regen requests are just duty cycle versus an interrupted cycle, ash buildup, or a machine-specific fault.

Light work can shorten regen intervals, but ash doesn't burn out in a regen. If the machine is finishing regens normally and the interval keeps getting shorter over time, the manual and fault codes matter more than simply working it harder. A failed or interrupted regen, sensor issue, or excess idle time can look similar from the seat.

I'd want the model/serial first, but logging engine hours between completed regens is more useful than going by feel. A sudden interval change points more toward a sensor, fault, or interrupted regen. A gradual long-term shortening can fit ash loading. If the display shows soot or ash values, save those with any codes before replacing anything.
