Is it safe to wash the machine using a pressure washer?

Hi, That probably has a simple answer but I’d rather ask before doing something stupid.

My loader gets packed with grease and dirt around the engine area and under panels. I have access to a pretty strong pressure washer and was thinking about using it for cleaning, but I’m not sure if that’s actually safe long term.

I know cleaning is important for industrial pressure washer maintenance, but I’ve also heard people say you can force water into places you don’t want it.

Do you guys pressure wash your machines regularly or just stick to a normal hose and degreaser?

Cleaning with pressure is normal, just do it smart.

Most damage happens because people go full power close range. That pushes water past seals and into connectors.
I usually:

warm the machine slightly first
spray degreaser on heavy buildup
let it sit
then rinse from a distance

Also worth doing after you wash; run the machine for a few minutes so heat dries everything out.

Biggest mistake I see is guys blasting bearings or chaincase areas directly.
